A little info about Mark III
The armed red/gold Mark III prototype armor was built with a gold-titanium alloy to resolve the freezing problem encountered with Mark II.
Mark III suit is able to prevent the armor's systems from freezing at high altitudes, and at the same time extremely durable while not being as heavy as the Mark II.
Being more powerful than Mark II, Mark III requires more power to operate. In the movie Iron Man, when Tony Stark reverted to the original reactor after the second reactor was stolen by Stane, the first reactor had great difficulty providing enough power to the Mark III suit.
The energy supply was almost depleted the moment Tony flies with Mark III.
