KATO (Bruce Lee) - 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure by EnterBay

This was released in 2009, is limited to 5000 pieces worldwide and was officially sculpted by Master Arnie Kim.

"People ask me as an actor, 'how good are you really in gung-fu?' I always kid them about that. If I tell them I'm good, probably they'll say I'm boasting, but if I tell them I'm no good, you know I'm lying". I also tell them, " believe half of what you see and nothing that you hear - and remember, seven-hundred-million Chinese can't be Wong." [Bruce Lee]

Kato is a fictional character from The Green Hornet and in the TV series, it was played by the legendary Bruce Lee.

Perhaps when I was hired to play Kato in The Green Hornet it was an accident [Bruce Lee]

I had acted in Chinese films since I was a child but had not in U.S. films. I had no contacts in Hollywood. [Bruce Lee]

This edition of Kato is based on Bruce Lee who was only 26 at that time.

He was quite chubby at that time..
Anyway, it was fun. I was even approached by several businessmen to open a franchise of "Kato's Self Defense Schools" throughout the U.S., but I refused. I think I could have made a fortune if money was what I wanted then. I felt then and still feel today that I'm not going to prostitute my art for the sake of money. [Bruce Lee]

A high kick

This figure will add to my Green Hornet collection

You know why I got that Green Hornet job? I'll tell you why I got that Green Hornet job.
Because the hero's name was "Britt Reid", and I was the only Chinese in all of California who could pronounce "Britt Reid", that's why!

The Green Hornet lasted for one season, to the limit of thirty weeks.

In the first place it was not far enough out, not Batman-ish enough to please the viewers. Second, it should have been an hour-length show. Besides, the scripts were lousy and I did a really terrible job in it, I must say.

But in a way, it established me in Hong Kong and it put my foot in a lot of important doorways in Hollywood. When the series ended I asked myself, "What the hell do I do now?" [Bruce Lee]
